Top Ten Most Annoying Office Habbits
You are in the middle of a complex brainstorming process and suddenly you hear this: "I wanna party, all night long". Ouch! Your colleague left his desk and forgot to put it on silent or did not even bother. Also there are people who silent the ring tone and keep the vibrating effect casing an earthquake kind of feeling when somebody calls them.
Remedy: Buy an iPod.
Some people can’t help but speak as loud as they can when they are talking on the phone. Sometimes it is personal matters that are not related to work. I bet you are very excited to know whose turn it is to take the dog for a walk this weekend, John or his wife?
Remedy: head sets
Very common in multi-national companies. How would you feel if you had three of coworkers talking and laughing in a language that you are not familiar with? Most probably they are laughing at you otherwise they would use a common language. Very impolite and extremely annoying.
Remedy: attend intensive night language courses
Those are the ones that think that hitting keyboard keys with all the strength and power they got is the only way to get the letters printed on the screen. They are not necessarily nervous; it is just the way that they are used to type.
Remedy: suggest to the CEO the use of "touch screens" only in the office or iPads. Make a fancy presentation on how it saves time, energy etc... and skip on the cost part.
Where’s my pen? Where’s my stapler? Where’s my paper puncher? Where’s my chair? Where’s my desk? It is ok to borrow something and give it back, but not keep it forever.
Remedy: chain all your stuff to your desk
Don’t you just hate those people who would come to work immediately after finishing their morning exercises or jugging because they have no time to take a shower? Not even a deodorant. Come On!
Remedy: Give them a perfume on their next birthday. Why even wait, just leave it on their desk on some early morning. They will get the idea (or maybe not).
On the other hand, some may think that dipping themselves in perfume bottles should leave a good impression. It can be equally annoying to bad smell and can cause continuous sneezing for people with allergies.
Remedy: learn to breathe from your mouth.
Onions, Garlic, Tuna.....etc. The list does not end. But some people think it is normal to eat any kind of food on their desks. They simply visualize their desks as dinner tables when it is launch time break.
Remedy: Keep some anti-bacterial air refreshers in your drawer.
"John, is it really that important to come today to office, infect everybody and keep them in bed for days? You know, that report can wait one more day". People should be more considerate and think about others a little bit.
Remedy: bio-chemical face masks. They should be distributed freely at offices.
Every office has one of these. Coming late, leaving early, two breakfast breaks, three lunch breaks, seven smoke breaks, ten minutes in the bathroom every 15 minutes etc... She/he is never there but gets equally paid and shares the credit at the end of the project.
Remedy: Quit your job!
